These facts are based on various reports on this serious issue .
1. According to Policy commission of India ,40% of people will have no reach to fresh water by 2030.

We have lost around 30% rivers after independence.
3.
We have lost more then 20 lacks Wells, Pokhars and Lakes.
4. In some areas we have lost ground water down to 40 meters.
5. Water in the country is going down by 3 meters per year.
6. We are exploiting additional 72% of water.

One of the major reasons for the drying of rivers is human error.

India has not faced drought situation after year 2000.

93% rivers of the country come out of the waterfalls.

Our 76% water is used for irrigation.

Polluted water in the rivers,decreasing trees, growing settlements along the rivers,Increasing tapping and excessive irrigation are some
major reason behind this crisis.

13. We are ranked 120 in water quality index.
14. And we save only 200 Meter cube / person water from Rain while USA saves 6000 Meter cube / person.
15. We are in top five countries where around 16.3 Cr. people have no clear water and Ethiopia ranks second place in this list.
16. Rajasthan and Haryana are two sates where ground water is below normal and around 20% area is affected by this crisis.
17. Center Government invested around 398.9 Cr.in 2019-20 to recover this crisis which is most in history of India.
18. In 1979 it was estimated that the Narmada basin in MP has a total of 20 million acres of water, and now It reached 1.54 million feet in 2017-18.
19. In the capital of Jharkhand 280 out of 900 ponds are alive and 7860 out of 10 thousand ponds are alive in overall state.
